A continual process in the Library is working hard to make sure our collection meets the needs and desires of the community. The reality is new materials are constantly coming into the library and shelf space is limited. That means decisions have to be made all the time about whether or not books fit into the collection. Libraries refer to this process as weeding, it is making room for new things to come onto the shelves. It can be a very difficult process sometimes and tough decisions are made.
Fowler Public Library has made a recent change to the collection based upon the usage. We have discontinued our VHS collection, This creates the room needed for further growth into our DVD (and Blu-Ray) collections. The VHS tapes are set out for member of the public to take, a free-will donation is appreciated and any money donated will go towards the Video collection. If there is a Title which you do not see in the DVD collection that you want replaced feel free to let us know at the Library so we can see what we can do.
